Tom Sanne signs a new contract
Hamburger SV have agreed a contract extension with young attacker Tom Sanne. His new deal is now valid until 2026.
Tom Sanne signed a contract extension at Hamburger SV on Wednesday, 5th July. The U19s attacker’s current deal was due to expire in 2024 and is now valid until 2026. “We are pleased that we have tied down another talented academy player in Tom,” explained director of professional football Claus Costa. Sanne himself is also happy with his new contract: “I am pleased that HSV have shown faith in me with a new contract. Training and playing at the Volkspark is really special for me as a Hamburg lad. I will try my best to keep on developing at HSV so that I can become a permanent member of the first-team squad. That’s my main goal and I will give my all to achieve it.”
“Tom’s development has been impressive”
The 19-year-old scored 18 goals in 22 competitive games last season and also made his debut in the second division. He scored once in two substitute appearances. “Tom has some interesting qualities,” said Costa.
“He scored plenty of goals for the U19s and U21s, and even once for the first team. He showed the ability he possesses,” praised Costa, adding: “Tom’s development in recent months has been impressive thanks to his intelligence, willingness to learn and his desire to keep on improving. We want him to continue developing with us and will closely follow his progress in professional football.”
Tom Sanne will be part of the HSV squad to travel to Kitzbühel in Austria on Thursday for the pre-season training camp.
