Three players back in Hamburg
After being in action for their national teams on Monday evening, three HSV players are expected to return to the Volkspark on Tuesday with their heads held high.
While head coach Tim Walter is working the rest of the team hard at training, nine of his boys are away on international duty, some of which are expected to return on Tuesday, including the trio of Laszlo Benes, Dennis Hadzikadunic and Ignace van der Brempt. Their first stop will be at the HSV physio room, where they will be assessed for any minor issues following their 90 minute run-out with their respective national teams.
Lazslo Benes played in a Euros qualifier for Slovakia against Liechtenstein, which ended up being a comfortable 3-0 victory for the former. He set up the third goal in what was a strange match, as the Slovakians scored all three of their goals in the first five minutes. Dennis Hadzikadunic had the complete opposite experience with Bosnia and Herzegovina, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Iceland, who scored the winner in injury time. There was also only one goal in the Belgium U21s game. Ignace van der Brempt was the starting right-back for the Red Devils and helped them to keep a clean sheet in their 1-0 victory against Kazakhstan.
