Muheim, Pherai and Sahiti are all set for action with their respective senior national sides, while Mebude, Rössing-Lelesiit and Stange have all been called up at youth level. Muheim is set for a return to his old stomping ground: “It will be an emotional occasion.”
Six members of the Rothosen are preparing to jet off for action during the first international break of 2025, with Miro Muheim (Switzerland), Immanuel Pherai (Suriname), Emir Sahiti (Kosovo), Adedire Mebude (Scotland U21), Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit (Norway U19) und Otto Stange (Germany U18) all on duty. “I am really pleased to have been called up and I hope to get some minutes once again,” explained Miro Muheim, who has received his second nomination for the Switzerland senior national team. The 26-year-old left-back is set for friendly matches in Northern Ireland (21st March, kick-off 19:45 CET) and against Luxembourg (25th March, kick-off 20:45 CET). The latter fixture is to be played at the Kybunpark in St. Gallen, which is a venue that holds special significance for Muheim, since it is the home ground of the team for whom he made his first ventures into professional football between 2018 and 2021. “It will be really nice to make my return to the stadium and it will no doubt be an emotional occasion.”
The upcoming international break with possess no less emotion for midfielder Immanuel Pherai, who was born in the Netherlands and possesses Brazilian roots but decided last summer to play for the nation of his father, Suriname. The long journey to link up with his national side in South America means his schedule may be more jam-packed than most, with two CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying fixtures against Martinique on the agenda for the 23-year-old (home tie on 21st March, kick-off 23:00 CET; away on 26th March 00:00 CET).

Important play-offs await Sahiti
Emir Sahiti completes the trio of HSV players heading off for senior international football. The Kosovan will be in action in the Nations League play-offs against Iceland, with a spot in League B on the line. The first leg will take place in Kosovo’s capital of Pristina on Thursday (20th March, kick-off 20:45 CET) before the second clash is set to be played in the Spanish city of Murcia on the following Sunday (23rd March, 18:00 CET). Due to underpitch heating currently being installed at Iceland’s usual home stadium, the national side will ‘host’ a fixture for the first time outside of their own country. Iceland are hoping to prevent relegation to League C of the competition, while Kosovo have sights set on promotion to League B.
Alongside the three aforementioned senior internationals, Mebude, Rössing-Lelesiit and Stange will represent their respective nations at youth level. Mebude will be in friendly action with the Scotland U21s as he faces Ireland (21st March, kick-off 20:00 CET) and Iceland (25th March, kick-off 14:00 CET). Rössing-Lelesiit is set to join up with the Norway U19 side ahead of fixtures with Belgium (19th March, kick-off 11:00 CET), Israel (22nd March, kick-off 11:00 CET) and Serbia (25th March, kick-off 17:00 CET). Last but not least, Otto Stange has also been called up by the Germany U18s for their friendly games against Austria (20th March, kick-off 13:00 CET) and the Netherlands (23rd March, kick-off 17:00 CET). Czechia U21 international Adam Karabec is unavailable to his nation as a result of adductor problems.
