Six Rothosen on international duty
A number of HSV players have been called up to represent their nations in the final international break of the calendar year. Among those in action will be Miro Muheim, who has been selected for the Switzerland squad for the first time. Ransford Königsdörffer has also received a late nomination for Ghana.
The final fixtures of an eventful year for international football, including the 2024 European Championship, are fast approaching. A number of HSV players are once again preparing for duty with their national sides. Miro Muheim (Switzerland), Ransford Königsdörffer (Ghana), Anssi Suhonen (Finland), Immanuel Pherai (Suriname), Adama Karabec (Czechia U21) and Fabio Balde (Germany U20) are all off on international duty. The aforementioned Muheim is set to make a very special debut. The 26-year-old left-back has been nominated for his senior national team for the first time and will face Serbia at home (15th November, kick-off: 20:00 CET) before an away clash with Spain (18th November, kick-off: 20:45 CET) in the UEFA Nations League. Teammate Suhonen will also be in action in that same competition. The 23-year-old midfielder, along with the rest of the Finland national squad, travels to take on Republic of Ireland (14th November, kick-off: 20:45 CET) before hosting Greece three days later in the Finnish capital of Helsinki (17th November, kick-off: 18:00 CET).
Königsdörffer receives late call-up
The Rothosen’s other two senior internationals, Immanuel Pherai and Ransford Königsdörffer, will once again be heading miles outside of Europe. Pherai and Suriname take on Canada twice in the CONCACAF Nations League (home tie 16th November, kick-off 00:30 CET; away tie 20th November, kick-off 01:30 CET). Meanwhile Königsdörffer, who has received a late call up to the Ghana national team, is preparing for action in his nation’s AFCON qualifiers in Angola (15th November, kick-off: 20:00 CET) and against Niger (18th November, kick-off: 17:00 CET).
Adam Karabec and Fabio Balde will also be in action over the international break as they are in action with their nations’ youth sides. Karabec and the Czechia U21 side are preparing for their European U21 Championship qualification play-offs against Belgium (away leg 15th November, kick-off: 20:00 CET; home leg 19th November, kick-off: 17:30 CET). The Germany U20s with Balde are set for friendly action in England (15th November, kick-off: 20:00 CET) and in Türkiye (19th November, kick-off: 17:00 CET). Wishing a successful and, primarily, injury-free international break to all Rothosen
