On we go: Full focus on the league!
After the cup defeat on Tuesday evening, the Rothosen were already back on the training pitch on Wednesday morning to start preparations for 1. FC Magdeburg as quickly as possible.
No time to lose! This was the motto of the HSV pros after they had to drop out of the cup on Tuesday evening despite an appealing and much-praised performance and a 4-0 defeat at Champions League participant RB Leipzig. A clear statement: The signs point to a new start! Coach Tim Walter had ordered his team back to the Volkspark early on Wednesday morning after their overnight return from Leipzig in order to flip the switch. Meaning: Put the cup behind you and focus on the league! There is no time to be disappointed, after all, HSV's schedule continues in quick succession, with 1. FC Magdeburg visiting the Volksparkstadion on Sunday. Then it's all about important points in the league again, in which the Red Shirts want to collect as many points as possible until the long winter break, which already starts on 13 November.
While the team, which had been in action on Tuesday evening, worked regeneratively on Wednesday morning, the other players plus the goalkeeper team were on the pitch for match substitution training. Robert Glatzel and Laszlo Benes were still unable to play due to back problems and an infection respectively. Moritz Heyer and Bakery Jatta were also unable to play, both having suffered ankle injuries in Leipzig. However, final diagnoses are still pending, further examinations will follow and hopefully bring positive news. So that the coming days can be used together and with as much training participation as possible to prepare optimally for the promoted team from Magdeburg - and for the next home match festival in the Volkspark. So far, 52,000 tickets have been sold, so it will be really crowded again in the Volksparkstadion, where home victory number four should be achieved.
