Noah Katterbach ruptures his ACL
The 23-year-old left-back tore the ACL in his right knee in the friendly against FCSB.
Hamburger SV’s left-back Noah Katterbach unfortunately ruptured the ACL in his right knee in last Friday’s friendly against FCSB (2-1 defeat). An MRI scan on Monday afternoon (13th January) at the UKE Athleticum confirmed the diagnosis. The 23-year-old suffered the injury during a tackle just before full-time.
It’s extremely sad news for the defender and the Rothosen, particularly given that Katterbach suffered the same injury to his other knee back in April 2023 whilst on loan at the club. The former Germany U21 international impressively fought his way back to full fitness in the same year and made his return for 1. FC Köln’s reserves. He then joined HSV on a permanent deal in January 2024. Katterbach has played 27 times in all competitions for Hamburg (1 goal, 3 assists), including 10 times this season. His first goal for the club came on matchday 9 in the 3-1 win over 1. FC Magdeburg.
Everyone at HSV would like to wish Noah Katterbach all the best and hope he can once again make a speedy recovery.
