Reis and Suhonen reach milestones in Paderborn
HSV midfielders Ludovit Reis and Anssi Suhonen both reached impressive milestones in Friday's clash against SC Paderborn.
Matchday 33 was anything but a time for celebration for the Rothosen after the side fell to a 1-0 defeat against SC Paderborn. As such, Ludovit Reis and Anssi Suhonen did not receive the recognition for their personal achievements that they had deserved, with the pair both reaching impressive milestones in the clash at the Home Deluxe Arena. HSV’s number 14 ticked off his 100th competitive outing for the club on Friday afternoon, while the Finnish midfielder stepped onto the pitch for the 50th time, with both players being listed in the starting XI.
Since joining HSV from Osnabrück in 2021, Reis has stacked up a remarkable number of appearances for the side, and has since worked his way up the ranks into the positions of both a permanent member of the line-up and vice captain. After making the step up into first-team football from HSV’s youth side, Suhonen has proved himself time and time again throughout his seven-year journey at HSV, with the starting XI appearance in Paderborn marking his 50th competitive fixture for the Rothosen. The disappointing result on matchday 33, which shattered the last of HSV’S hopes of promotion to the Bundesliga, naturally cast a cloud over the pair’s personal milestones. Nevertheless, despite the disappointment, the players do deserve to be recognised for their achievements now that a few days have passed.
