Pre-season 2024/25: Double training camp for HSV
The season may only just have finished, but the Rothosen have already turned their attentions to the new one. Plans for pre-season are being finalised, including two training camps in Lower Saxony and Austria.
As the domestic game enters its summer break and anticipation builds ahead of EURO 2024, the new season is beginning to cast its shadow. It had already been confirmed that the Rothosen would reconvene on 29th June to begin the mandatory physical tests ahead of the 2024/25 season, and now other key dates on the HSV pre-season calendar have been finalised, including two training camps.
First training camp in Lower Saxony
Due to the Volksparkstadion – along with the team’s dressing rooms and training facilities – being in use for the European Championships this summer, Steffen Baumgart’s side will have to spend the early stages of pre-season elsewhere. Following the performance tests on 29th and 30th June, the HSV squad will travel to Schneverdingen for a training camp lasting until 6th July. The first phase of the build-up for 24/25 will conclude with a friendly at a sold-out Jahnstadion in Neetze, which will see the Rothosen face local Landesliga side TuS Neetze in front of a crowd of 2,500.
Second training camp in Austria
After the first training camp, HSV will resume training at the Volksparkstadion before setting off for a further camp on 16th July. The Rothosen will spend a total of ten days at the “DAS BRAMBERG” resort in Bramberg am Wildkogel, training at the nearby training facilities of the Sportunion Bramberg. Friendlies are planned for the stay in and around the state of Salzburg, and dates and opponents for these matches will be announced in due course.
