“It will be hostile at the Bremer Brücke”
Tim Walter spoke about the current squad situation, the lessons learnt from the Elversberg game and the atmosphere at the Bremer Brücke at the press conference ahead of the trip to Osnabrück.
After the 2-1 loss away to SV Elversberg, HSV must play away from home again on Friday evening at the Bremer Brücke (18:30 CEST). Once more, the Rothosen will have the challenge of dealing with a hostile atmosphere – a challenge that Tim Walter’s team obviously aim to overcome. The 47-year-old head coach spoke about how his team will approach this task and who is available for the game at Wednesday’s press conference.
Tim Walter touched on...
...the current squad situation: Immanuel Pherai has broken a toe and is in pain, so he probably won’t feature at the weekend. The same goes for Miro Muheim, who also suffered a very painful ankle injury. Lukasz Poreba und Anssi Suhonen are also not available for selection, but Gui Ramos will be back in the squad after having served his red card suspension.
...the lessons learnt from the Elversberg game: We take a look at the good and bad things after every game. The momentum wasn’t on our side during the game. Moreover, we put in a number of crosses and had several dangerous attacks which weren’t reflected in the scoreline. As a result, we need to be more accurate and play with more precision once again. We also need to be more resilient defensively and can’t give the opposition any gifts.
...the away game at the Bremer Brücke: We’re playing on a Friday evening under the floodlights at a compact ground. The opposition will throw everything they’ve got at us - they’ll play with a lot of intensity and will try to force us into lots of individual duels. The Bremer Brücke is known for that. It doesn’t matter how well Osnabrück have played previously since it’s a completely new game once again. However, this also applies to us. Every game is unique and needs to be played out. Our goal is to improve on things so that we can play like we did in the first five games. The boys have trained really well and simply want to improve. That’s what we demand of ourselves – both in every training session and every game.
