“This result is only a partial success for us”
The Rothosen came from behind twice to earn a point at home to Paderborn, though none of the players were particularly satisfied with the result. Robert Glatzel also confirmed that the ball did hit his hand before his disallowed goal.
Sebastian Schonlau: We controlled the game in the first half and had a few chances to go ahead. It was end to end in the second half and we let them have too much space. We were at fault for both of their goals. We came back twice, but we shouldn’t have conceded two goals.
Jonas Meffert: It’s a shame that we couldn’t win the game after the late disallowed goal. We were all already celebrating. The ball unluckily hit Bobby’s hand, that’s just football. If the ball had bounced one or two centimeters higher or lower, we’d have deservedly won 3-2 and it would have been a great performance, so it’s a real shame. We came from behind twice and that speaks volumes of us. We have to make sure we don’t go behind though, as that just makes thing more complicated.
Robert Glatzel: I was pretty certain that the ball had hit my hand. Ransi got a little touch on the cross and that’s why I couldn’t quite reach it. I didn’t celebrate properly as a result. Ultimately, it was one of several chances at the end. We should have been better in the first half though and have to work on that. We showed the kind of quality we have again, just like we did against Lautern. Just creating lots of chances in the final 20 to 30 minutes isn’t good enough, especially at home.

Davie Selke: Noah promised me before the game that he would deliver a ball I could stick my head on and I’m happy that it came to fruition. I’m also pleased that we came from behind twice, it’s just a shame that our third goal didn’t stand. We’d have loved to have won the game after showing some such character and belief. We obviously wanted to win, but we have to acknowledge that we played against a strong Paderborn side.
Matheo Raab: We recovered well after going 1-0 down, equalised and then were pushing to go ahead before I unfortunately failed to properly clear that ball and that set us back. We equalised again though and pushed for a winning goal, but it wasn’t to be in the end. We had to settle for a point, so not everything went well, but not everything went badly either. We will continue to work hard.
Steffen Baumgart: We started to control the game after around 20 minutes, albeit without creating any clear-cut chances. Both teams did well on the ball, but the big opportunities came after the break. We came from behind twice, which is a positive. We were unlucky to have a third goal ruled out in injury time, however I think a draw is a fair result overall. This result is only a partial success for us.
