Last day of training in Austria
HSV will head back to Hamburg on Thursday after their training camp in Austria. The players trained one final time in Bramberg am Wildkogel on Wednesday.
Steffen Baumgart’s team trained early on Wednesday morning at TSU Bramberg’s ground for the final time at the summer training camp in Austria. The session included lots of work with the ball and shooting drills, as well as exercises working on pressing and tight spaces.
These drills were done in small groups on smaller pitches, with the goalkeepers working on their own elsewhere, albeit without a couple of their normal members. Matheo Raab is suffering from fever again and Hannes Hermann was resting due to a back issue. Almost the full squad was out on the pitch, with just Jean-Luc Dompe and Fabio Balde working individually.
The coaching team were extremely vocal during the session and kept stopping the drills to demand improvements. That meant that training, which began at 9:30 CEST with some activation, only ended at midday with the shooting drills.
The final session at TSU Bramberg’s ground was followed by some video analysis with the coaching team in the afternoon. The Rothosen took time to meet fans and sign some autographs after training, before packing everything up on Thursday morning and heading to Kufstein.
Baumgart’s team will play a friendly there against Aris Limassol at 14:00 CEST on Friday, prior to heading back to Hamburg via Munich airport after the game.
