Glatzel back in team training
Robert Glatzel was back in team training on Tuesday for the first time since rupturing a tendon in his hip, marking another important step on his journey to returning to action.
After a number of months on the sidelines, Robert Glatzel was able to return to team training on Tuesday (18th February) for the first time since rupturing a tendon in his hip on 10th October 2024. Glatzel had revealed how close he was to returning last week in an interview and was simply delighted to be back with his fellow Rothosen: “It was an amazing feeling,” said ‘Bobby’ after the session, which he finished on his own individually.

“I was really looking forward to returning to full training with the rest of the lads. It was a totally different feeling than working individually away from the group.” The striker stepping out of team training before the end was already agreed before the session: “I will continue to be slowly introduced back to full training step-by-step,” explained the prolific forward. “The next step will be making tackles again and then a full training session with the team.” There is no set timescale regarding the final two steps, with Glatzel simply looking to see how his body reacts every day before increasing his workload accordingly. Nevertheless, the 31-year-old is “simply happy and excited” after this latest step in the right direction.
