Final friendly of training camp ends goalless
HSV played one final friendly match on the way back from their training camp, drawing 0-0 with Aris Limassol.
On Thursday (25th July), HSV stopped off at the Kufstein Stadion on the way back from their training camp in Austria to play the third and final friendly of the trip. HSV put in a strong defensive performance against Cypriot side Aris Limassol, but failed to get themselves on the scoresheet over the 90 minutes.
The Rothosen started the game well with some good attacking play, and also created two or three goalscoring chances. Limassol, who play in the top tier of Cypriot football, were less dangerous in the face of a stubborn HSV defence, but still had the biggest opportunity of the first half when they struck the post after half an hour.
After the break, the two teams mainly cancelled each other out and stood strong defensively, with HSV goalkeeper Heuer Fernandes called into action just once. At the other end, Reis had two efforts on goal that failed to pose too much of a danger. The Rothosen therefore drew 0-0 in their final friendly not only of the training camp but of pre-season as a whole.
HSV: Heuer Fernandes - Hadzikadunic (David 77’), Schonlau (Ramos 77’), Muheim (Katterbach 77’) - Mikelbrencis (Oliveira 46’), Elfadli (Yalcinkaya 77’), Meffert (Heyer 63’), Reis (Pherai 63’), Karabec (Öztunali 46’), Jatta (Sillah 77’) - Königsdörffer (Nemeth 63’)
