Anssi Suhonen fractures left fibula
HSV’s 22-year-old midfielder suffered a left fibula fracture at the training camp in Austria and will therefore be unavailable for Tim Walter for the time being.
Midfielder Anssi Suhonen fractured his left fibula during a tackle in training on Monday (10th July). Scans in Austria on Tuesday (11th July) and on Wednesday in Hamburg (12th July) confirmed the injury, whilst also showing that he has broken a different part of the fibula than at the end of the 2021/22 season. The Finland international has already left the training camp and will now receive treatment in Hamburg. He doesn’t require an operation and that means that he should hopefully spend less time on the sidelines.
Suhonen arrived at HSV in January 2017 from Finland and initially played for the club’s youth sides. After recovering from an ACL tear in July 2020, he made his first-team debut in August 2021 in the DFB-Pokal. The youngster has played 38 times for Hamburger SV in all competitions, scoring two goals and recording three assists.
Stay strong and we hope to see you back soon, Anssi!
