Würzburger Kickers take Jonas David on loan
The 19-year-old academy graduate moves to Baden-Württemberg for the remainder of the season.
After the arrival of Amadou Onana, transfer deadline day say one departure from the Hamburg ranks, with Jonas David moving to Würzburger Kickers for the rest of the season. The 19-year-old defensive utility man, who can also play in defensive midfield, celebrated his debut for the first team on the 3rd August 2018, having joined the Rothosen’s academy in the summer of 2014, and looks to gain valuable game time at Kickers, currently in 14th place in Liga 3. “For Jonas it’s important to take the next step in his development, and to do that he needs as much game time as possible. We’re happy that Würzburg offered him this kind of opportunity and we will stay in close contact with him during his loan spell,” HSV sporting director Michael Mutzel explained.
The Hamburg native was only able to make one short substitute appearance for the first team this season, alongside eight games for the under-21 side in the Regionalliga Nord.
