"We want to stay to ourselves"
In the press conference before the home match against Hansa Rostock, HSV head coach Tim Walter spoke about the personnel situation, the upcoming duel with the "Kogge" and the situation surrounding Bakery Jatta.
On Sunday, Hamburger SV will welcome F.C. Hansa Rostock to the Volksparkstadion for the first leg of the 2021/22 season. Against the promoted team from the Baltic Sea, which is currently 13th in the table with 19 points, the Reds want to add three points to their account, which so far has 26 points. "We want to create more goal-scoring chances and, above all, have better timing in the box when we score," Tim Walter outlined the plan for this endeavour at today's digital press conference.
The 46-year-old spoke in detail about...
... the personnel situation: Jonas David will not be fit until Sunday. Otherwise, everything will remain the same. The boys who were and are injured are unfortunately still not available. We are waiting and hoping for the next week.
... the game against Rostock: Hansa Rostock defended very resolutely and relied a lot on switching moments. Rostock try to come forward with force, hit a lot of crosses and are very dangerous in standard situations. We have defended standards very well this season and have even scored goals from balls that have been saved. It's a challenge for us to keep up. At the same time, we want to stay with ourselves: We want to create more scoring chances and, above all, have better timing in the box when we score. We lacked that last weekend. If we refine this, then we will be successful.
„I have said it repeatedly: Baka is one of us“
... Bakery Jatta: I have said it repeatedly: Baka is one of us. The situation surrounding him does not affect us as a team in our daily work. There is a good atmosphere among us. I think that should answer everything. Bakery is healthy and therefore we can and will let him play.
