USA Tour: HSV x HAMBURG X LA - Red Shorts leave graffiti behind
HSV left graffiti in Los Angeles at the end of its USA tour in cooperation with the city of Hamburg. The final lines were sprayed on the wall by the professionals themselves.
For one week, HSV represented the diamond, the DFL and German football in California. With two friendly matches, visits to schools, football school sessions, visits to football and basketball sporting events and other cultural events, there was a varied and exciting programme. At the end of the trip, the Rothosen left behind a very special souvenir in the US metropolis. In cooperation with Stadt Hamburg, a graffiti with the emblems of HSV and the Hanseatic city was implemented and immortalised on a parking deck in the middle of downtown LA (South Main Street & East 8th Street, Los Angeles).

Fine-tuning by the professionals
The motif for the wall art was created by a graphic designer and artist from HSV's marketing team. It was implemented on site by local artist Geoff Gouveia, who worked on the artwork from Friday evening until Monday morning. The HSV professionals and board member Jonas Boldt completed the work on Monday morning with the final touches.
"The graffiti shows the city of Hamburg, of which we as HSV are incredibly proud. It is meant to make our stay here in LA visible once again," said Boldt at the completion, which was attended by the entire team as well as the Deputy Consul General of the German Consulate General in Los Angeles, Dirk Schulz, and several HSV fans. Under the motto "Thats why. Hamburg." a piece of HSV and the Hanseatic city is now emblazoned in Los Angeles for the time being. An impressive sign at the end of an eventful tour.
