Until 2026: Ludovit Reis extends!
The top dutch midfielder has extended his contract with HSV ahead of schedule. Board Member Jonas Bold: "A prime example of the path we have chosen."
Hamburger SV has extended the contract of midfielder Ludovit Reis (22) early until the summer of 2026. The club ties down an absolute top performer of the Rothosen and top player of the 2. Liga further to itself. "Ludo is a prime example of the path we have taken to win players with development potential for us and make them better in our system. We recognised multiple potentials in his game at the time of his signing and Ludo has gradually unfolded them together with our coaching team, but is still in an ongoing and exciting process in this regard," explains board member Jonas Boldt. "I am very pleased to have extended my contract at HSV ahead of schedule. I feel at home here and the past one and a half years have already brought me a lot further as an athlete and as a person. I want to continue to bring out the best in myself and help the team, the club and its unique fans to achieve our common goals," says Ludovit Reis.
Noticeable and Visible Development
Ludovit Reis moved to the Elbe from Catalonia in the summer of 2021 with the recommendation of 105 professional games (three goals, five assists) for FC Groningen, VfL Osnabrück and FC Barcelona B and then quickly developed into an undisputed regular in coach Tim Walter's team. HSV's vision of making the very active defending box-to-box player even better, especially on the offensive, by getting him into goal-scoring spaces and working on his finality and efficiency in finishing, has so far come to fruition successfully with eight goals and four assists in 55 competitive games for the Rothosen. In addition, the Dutchman with Slovakian roots is one of the strongest runners (155.3 kilometres covered, 7th), dribblers (16 dribbles won, 8th) and most resilient (1,246 minutes played, 15th) midfielders in the 2nd division and, as a 15-time U21 international for the Netherlands, has also held his own at international level.
Born on 1 June 2000 in Haarlem near Amsterdam and trained at SV Hoofddorp (until 2015) and FC Groningen (2015-17), the mental player still has development reserves, not least due to his still young age of 22. The fact that the courted midfielder wants to continue to exploit this at HSV in the future speaks for the detailed work of the coaching team and the personnel philosophy in the licensed team. HSV fans can look forward to more robustly fought duels in the defence, technically demanding dribbles through the centre and dangerous finishes in the final third of the game from the U21 international.
