Oliveira receives first professional contract and extends until 2026
The 19-year-old full-back has signed his first professional contract and also extended his deal until the summer of 2026.
Yet another young talent from HSV’s academy has taken the step up to the first team squad. Nicolas Oliveira has extended his contract at the ‘Rothosen’, currently running until 2025, by a further year and has also earned his first professional contract. This shows the club’s continued commitment to developing its own young players with a clear path to the first team and is the third homegrown player to sign this transfer window following Elijah Krahn and Tom Sanne. “Nico has developed really well in the last few months. This was not only evident during our recent training camp in Austria, but also in previous first team friendlies and last season for the U21s,” said director of first team football Claus Costa. “He has impressive pace, can cover both full-back positions and has a real willingness to learn. We are really pleased to take on the next steps in his development together with him.”
Versatile full-back
“It fills me with pride and is a really special moment for me to have signed my first professional contract with HSV here today. This step vindicates all the work I do every day,” said the 19-year-old. “But I am not going to rest on my laurels, quite the opposite, I am going to keep working hard and want to prove myself to the coaching staff. My main aim remains to one day be able to run out in front of our fans at the Volksparkstadion in a Hamburg shirt.”
Nicolas Oliveira joined Hamburg’s academy from Eimsbütteler TV in the summer of 2018 and has played for every HSV youth team since then. Last season, he had his first experiences in senior football, playing 23 games for HSV U21s in the Regionalliga North and also making HSV’s matchday squad on nine occasions. He is currently undergoing pre-season with the senior squad and has impressed, not least during the recent training camp in Kitzbühel.
