Julian Pollersbeck departs Hamburg in direction of Lyon
The 26-year-old goalkeeper signs for the Ligue 1 team.
Julian Pollersbeck has decided to take on a new challenge, leaving Hamburger SV and joining Olympique Lyon on a permanent basis. Altogether, the 26-year-old was a HSV player for a tad more than three years, having signed a four-year contract in the summer of 2017 just after winning the European championship with the German under-21 team. Pollersbeck, who hails from Altöttinger in Bavaria, had made his first steps as a professional in the four years previously at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The ‘keeper made 51 competitive appearances for the Rothosen in his three-year spell at the club, broken down into 10 Bundesliga, 37 2. Bundesliga and four DFB Pokal games.
Pollersbeck now continues his journey at the seven-time Ligue 1 champions, with HSV Head of Sport Jonas Boldt wishing him well: “We would like to thank Julian for his dedication whilst at HSV and are convinced that he has found an exciting opportunity with Olympique Lyon.
