"That's exactly what we want to show on the pitch".
In the press conference before the Stadtderby at the Millerntor-Stadion, HSV head coach Tim Walter talked about the explosive nature of the match, the Red Short's start to the season, and their playful approach.
SHis fourth competitive match as HSV head coach will be a very special one. Next Friday (August 13, kickoff: 6:30 p.m. CEST), Tim Walter will be on the sideline at Millerntor to lead the Red Shorts in the Stadtderby against FCSP. The 45-year-old, who lives through football with every fiber of his body anyway, appeared full of anticipation and attacking spirit in today's press conference. "We have sharpened our senses," explained the coach, who is still unbeaten to date (two wins, one draw), setting the agenda for the prestigious match.
In addition, the HSV coach spoke about...
...the start to the season: "I'm very pleased with the way we're creating goal-scoring opportunities and working against the ball. Of course, we would have liked to have taken two more points in the home game against Dynamo Dresden (1-1), but that's over and done with. We've been working together for around seven weeks now and are basically in agreement, but there's still room for improvement in some areas.
... the importance of the Stadtderby: The derby atmosphere is always very special. In such games, it's all about representing your club and your colors in a dignified manner. That's exactly what we want to show on the pitch. The HSV fans are in a positive mood across the board and totally enthusiastic. We get the support and that's exciting, of course.
„Whoever doesn't show courage on Friday will lose out.“
... the Stadtderby record in the 2. Bundesliga, which could be improved: "Those who are self-confident believe in their own strength - and not in superstition. We will go into the game just as we did last time. We want to be dominant and intense, and always show the necessary willingness. Anyone who doesn't show courage on Friday will lose out.
