Success and plenty of minutes for Rothosen on international duty
Emir Sahiti and Kosovo earned promotion to League B in the UEFA Nations League, while Immanuel Pherai featured for Suriname. Read on for all the latest updates from the players on international duty.
While the international break has already come to an end for some, for others, there are still important matches to be played. With six HSV players away with their respective nations, we take a look at how the first international break of the season has gone for them so far. First up, Emir Sahiti (pictured) and Kosovo were able to successfully earn promotion to League B in the Nations League after two wins against Iceland (2-1, 3-1). The 26-year-old featured for a combined 67 minutes across both matches.
Meanwhile, Immanuel Pherai and Miro Muheim still have a game each to contest before being able to return to Hamburg. Pherai and Suriname won their first match against Martinique, with the midfielder featuring for 29 minutes off the bench. Muheim was an unused substitute in Switzerland's 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland. Muheim, who turns 27 today, will now be hoping to feature as the Nati take on Luxembourg in St. Gallen. For Pherai and Suriname, they return to Martinique for their second match against the overseas department on Wednesday evening.
Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit (Norway U19) and Adedire Mebude (Scotland U21) also both have one more game to play. Rössing-Lelesiit will come up against Serbia U19s on Tuesday (17:00 CET), while Mebude will face the Iceland U21s in Murcia at 14:00 CET. Otto Stange is also currently in Spain with the Germany U18s. He started once and was brought in off the bench once across their games against Austria U18s (1-1) and the Netherlands U18s (1-0 win). Stange is expected to return to Hamburg on Tuesday.
