Sonny Kittel leaves Hamburger SV after four years
HSV would like to thank Sonny Kittel for all his efforts for the Rothosen over the last four years.
Sonny Kittel and Hamburger SV will go their separate ways this summer. Kittel joined the club in 2019 from FC Ingolstadt, immediately taking on a leading role within the team. He featured in 140 competitive games for the club over the last four seasons, scoring 36 goals and setting up a further 40. His 76 goal involvements made the 30-year-old one of HSV’s leading attackers over the last years.
“We would like to say thank you to Sonny for his efforts over the last four years. He is and was a special player who was often able to impact games, something that is clear to see when looking at his statistics,” said HSV’s director of sport, Jonas Boldt. Kittel has featured in more games for HSV than any other club he has played for, having amassed a total of 60 Bundesliga and 201 Bundesliga 2 appearances in his career. “We would like to wish Sonny and his family all the best for the future, and he is welcome back in Hamburg any time,” said Boldt.
