Pherai called up by Suriname

Immanuel Pherai has been called up by the Suriname national team for the first time. The 23-year-old midfielder, who was born in Amsterdam on 25th April 2001, featured for the youth teams of the Netherlands from U15 to U19 level, but will now play for his father’s South American homeland. Suriname next take on the Caribbean island countries of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (5th June) and Anguilla (8th June) as part of their World Cup qualifying campaign. Best of luck, Manu!
