Ogechika Heil joins Go Ahead Eagles on loan
The 20-year-old winger will gain match practice in the Dutch Eredivisie with Go Ahead, who were promoted last season.
Ogechika Heil will spend the 2021/22 season with Dutch first division club Go Ahead Eagles. The 20-year-old winger, who signed a contract until 2024 with HSV last April, is expected to continue his promising development at the Eredivisie club.
"Ogi earned himself recognition for the first team through his performance in the U21s and has attracted attention in his short spells. For the next step in his development, match practice and experience are highly important, so we see a loan as the optimal solution. We are confident that this is possible for him at Go Ahead Eagles and wish him all the best," said sporting director Michael Mutzel on Heil's loan, who made six appearances in the second division last season.
The 1.68-metre-tall Heil, who has played for HSV since 2016, has featured for the club's U17 and U19 teams (63 games, twelve goals, seven assists) and the U21s (24 games, four goals, seven assists). At Go Ahead Eagles, who traditionally use young players, more appearances at the highest level should follow.
