Walter: “Three ingredients for three points”
In the press conference ahead of the away game at SV Wehen Wiesbaden, HSV head coach Tim Walter spoke about his match strategy among other things.
On Saturday (13:00 CEST), the Rothosen visit promoted side SV Wehen Wiesbaden as part of matchday 9 in the 2. Bundesliga. After the recent 1-0 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Volksparkstadion, where they are unbeaten in 14 league games, HSV are now looking to show their class away from home again. This Thursday afternoon (5th October), head coach Tim Walter spoke in detail about how that’ll be achieved and which personnel will be available for the Rothosen’s trip to Hesse. Here he is on...
...the personnel situation: Jean-Luc Dompe and Ludovit Reis are fully match-fit again. Anssi Suhonen unfortunately still has calf problems in the same place. We’ll have to wait and see how his situation develops.
...the match strategy for the game against Wehen: We’re always talking about a balanced second division. But if HSV fail to win when they were expected to, the narrative is suddenly different. I think that shows a bit of a lack of respect to the opponent. We respect every opponent. If we add to that a strong hunger for victory and relentless energy, we have the three ingredients for three points.
"We can always do things better"
...his expectations for the match: We will again probably face an opponent who sits deep. It’s about being energised again. We haven’t always managed that in the past few weeks, though we did it really well against Düsseldorf. The aim will be to increase our tempo with the ball as well as be good at both pressing high and defending the rest of the field. We still want to do things better than we have up to now. Because we can always do things better. I’ve already said that you have to work for quality. You also have to keep working for quality.
