Squad update: (Almost) a full complement of HSV players
Hamburger SV have started a new week of training ahead of their home clash against Hannover 96 on Friday. Most of the Rothosen took part in an intense training session on Tuesday morning as they geared up for the northern derby.
After taking Monday off, Tim Walter and his players gathered on the training pitches at the Volksparkstadion to start to prepare for their home match against Hannover 96. HSV’s coach watched on as the vast majority of the squad took part in the session, after there were no serious injuries to report in the 2-1 win over Hertha BSC. Robert Glatzel came off the bench in the away victory as he is not 100% fit just yet. For this reason, Glatzel was only involved in parts of team training on Tuesday, as was Masaya Okugawa. The Japanese striker picked up a knock recently, so their absences are no cause for concern.
Goalkeeper Matheo Raab did not partake in the session, as he is currently feeling under the weather, while Sebastian Schonlau continued to work on his comeback by training individually. Bilal Yalcinkaya and Hannes Herrmann both trained with the U19s, while Otto Stange missed Tuesday’s session because he is away with the Germany U17 side who are participating in the Algarve Cup. The Rothosen got down to business straight away on Tuesday morning and looked to lay the foundations for an entertaining match on Friday evening.
