Pre-season is underway at HSV

With EURO 2024 in full swing, the league has taken a bit of a back seat. However, HSV are ready to get the ball rolling on their pre-season training ahead of the upcoming campaign, starting with a number of obligatory performance tests to assess the team’s current fitness levels. Over the weekend, the players will complete a series of exercises at the UKE Athleticum to examine their endurance, speed, and strength in order to build a holistic overview of both their health and athletic capabilities. After the two days of testing are complete, HSV's preparations for the new campaign will be in full swing, which will see them back in league action at the beginning of August.

01/07 – 06/07: Training camp in Lower Saxony
With the team’s changing room and training pitches out of use due to the EUROs, Steffen Baumgart’s side will kick off their pre-season with a training camp from 1st to 6th July in Lower Saxony.

06/07 (14:00 CEST): Friendly against TuS Neetze
At the end of the five-day training camp, HSV will be in friendly action against TuS Neetze. The match will be played at a sold-out Beetzer Jahnstadion in front of 2,500 fans, with the opportunity to watch along live on HSVtv.

From 07/07: Training begins at the Volksparkstadion
With all the European Championship matches in Hamburg complete, HSV will be able to return to the Volksparkstadion to continue their pre-season training. 

12/07 (19:00 CEST): Friendly against SV Drochtersen/Assel
HSV are set to battle it out in a friendly against fourth-division side SV Drochtersen/Assel in front of 4,000 spectators at the Kehdiunger Stadion. The sides will hope to lift the "buXtrade" trophy at the end of the game, with the company presenting the evening of football as a proud partner of HSV.

13/07 (17:00 CEST): Friendly against VfB Lübeck
The two clubs are connected in a number of ways, and so are both looking forward to facing off against each other in a pre-season friendly ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. 

16/07 – 25/07: Training camp in Austria
HSV will then head south for a ten-day training camp in the Austrian region of Bramberg am Wildkogel, where they will reside at the “DAS BRAMBERG” resort and use the training facilities of the Sportunion Bramberg. The Rothosen will be in friendly action while at the camp, taking on a number of teams in and around the state of Salzburg. The dates and opponents for these matches will be announced in due course.

02/08 – 04/08: Matchday 1 of the 2024/25 season
The schedule and opponents for HSV’s first games of the upcoming campaign are set to be announced by the DFL (German Football League) at the beginning of July.
