Josha Vagnoman signs professional contract

The 17-year-old, who currently plies his trade in the HSV youth team, has extended his contract at the club early and signed until 2021.

The HSV squad planning continues to gather pace. Hamburger SV will be able to call on the services of another youngster next season and the years beyond. 17-year-old Josha Vagnoman, who plays on the wing but could be used across the midfield, has extended his contract at the Volksparkstadion by two years to 2021. He received his current contract, his first as a professional, on his 18th birthday on 11 December last year.

Vagnoman has been at HSV since 2010, and has spent his time since then in the youth teams and as a regular in the Rothosen under-19s last season. He spent the end of the season training with the first team and even celebrated his Bundesliga debut against Bayern Munich in March. Head coach Christian Titz is a big fan of the youngster, who wishes to remain at the club and continue his development despite the recent relegation to Bundesliga 2. “HSV is my home, Hamburg is my city. I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges and I want to help the team as much as possible,” said Vagnoman.

HSV Sporting director Ralf Becker also expressed his delight at the news. “We are delighted to have been able to extend Josha’s deal. We are confident Josha will break into the first team sooner or later. We want to help him on this journey as much as possible.”
