International round-up: Ambrosius makes his Ghana debut

Stephan Ambrosius fulfilled his lifelong goal on Tuesday evening by making his international debut for Ghana in the fixture against Liberia. The 24-year-old was substituted on at half time, a memorable day not only due to his personal achievements, but also his team’s 3-1 victory.
Königsdörffer celebrates a win and his birthday
Ransford Königsdörffer was also in action for Ghana on Tuesday alongside HSV teammate Stephan Ambrosius. “Ransi” was brought on after half time, earning his second international cap as an early birthday present before he turned 22 the following day.
Nemeth and Zumberi in action for their U21 national teams
Andras Nemeth and Valon Zumberi both represented their respective U21 national teams on Tuesday evening. Nemeth came off the bench in Hungary’s 3-0 win over Malta, and Zumberi played a full game for Kosovo in their 2-1 defeat against Germany, in which Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko scored a brace.
Regular starters for HSV
Three members of the HSV starting eleven were in action for their national teams on Monday. Laszlo Benes played for Slovakia in their Euro qualifier against Liechtenstein, contributing to their 3-0 victory with an assist in the sixth minute of the match. Dennis Hadzikadunic was in the squad for Bosnia’s 1-0 defeat to Iceland, while Ignace van der Brempt helped Belgium U21s win 1-0 in their clash against Kazakhstan.
Oliveira makes his first start
Rising star Nico Oliveira was brought on as a right-back for the first time in the final ten minutes of Germany U20s’ 1-1 draw in a friendly against Poland, earning his debut appearance in the starting line-up against Italy in the following week.
