HSV beat Aarhus GF 3-2 in friendly
HSV beat Danish Superliga team Aarhus GF 3-2. Aaron Hunt, Bakery Jatta and Khaled Narey all got on the scoresheet for Die Rothosen.
HSV played against Danish Superliga team Aarhus GF on Thursday afternoon in a friendly and won 3-2. Die Rothosen in the first half went behind to the Danes and in the second half, the away side scored again to make it 0-2, shocking the home team. However, HSV’s response was formidable as Aaron Hunt, Bakery Jatta and Khaled Narey all scored to ensure a victory over the Danish team.
Goalscoring instinct
Die Rothosen began the game by dominating possession and applying pressure on the opponents from the front. The visitors were compact in defence but the first chance of the game fell to Tatsuya Ito but the Japanese winger was unable to convert. Although HSV were dominating the possession, it was the away side that took the lead as Aarhus GF nicked the ball off HSV, countered well and Ryan Mmaae scored after good work down the left hand side from Tobias Sana. Only a few minutes later the visitors had the chance to go 2-0 up but HSV keeper Julian Pollersbeck saved well to keep the ball out of his net.
In the second half, Casper Hojer made it 2-0 to the visitors two minutes after the restart. However, this second goal only woke up the HSV team as they soon replied with a volley from captain Aaron Hunt, Douglas Santos with the assist. Only six minutes later, Ito was fouled inside the penalty area and Bakery Jatta converted from the spot to make it 2-2. The two goals were deserved as HSV were playing much better football.
In the last minute of the game the German Togolese striker Narey completed the turnaround as he finished well after a very good ball by Gotoku Sakai. “We played quite well early on but we could not take advantage of our dominance. It is not good that we conceded two goals,” said Titz after the game. “In the second half we were able to make space with our pace. We played well today and I can see that we have developed as a team in recent months.”
