Eric Huwer signs long-term extension with HSV board

Eric Huwer has agreed a five-year early contract extension with the supervisory board of HSV Fußball AG. Huwer has worked at HSV for ten years, and was appointed as chairman for the finance, organisation, staffing, partnerships and law departments in January 2023. During this time, he has had great success in bettering HSV’s organisation, structure and finances and has substantially expanded the club’s partnership portfolio. 

Michael Papenfuß, chairman of the board of HSV Fußball AG, commented: “I’m very pleased we have been able to agree a long-term contract with Eric here at HSV. The club is as financially healthy and stable as ever and is viewed as a reliable partner a clear level of ambition far beyond the borders of the city of Hamburg. Eric has made a vital contribution to this in his various roles. He is a real asset for us with a true passion for HSV who acts with integrity, and we wished to secure him for the long term. Therefore, we’re pleased to make this important signal of continuity at the top of HSV Fußball AG.” 

Eric Huwer, board member of HSV Fußball AG, added: “Together with the HSV committees, my fellow board members, our colleagues and our partners, we’ve been able to get things back on track for HSV in the last two years. Therefore, I’m really pleased we’ll be able to carry on down this path together and work towards HSV’s future success.
