DFB-Pokal semi-final draw: HSV host RB Leipzig

HSV have been awarded a home semi-final in Sunday’s draw in Dortmund. The Rothosen will face RB Leipzig in the Volksparkstadion in the last four. DFB-Frauen’s Lena Goeßling conducted the draw in the German football museum.

“We wanted a home tie and we've been given one. We're delighted for our fans. We would be underdogs against all the remaining Bundesliga teams and are happy with this outsider status. We want to play well at home, defeat Leipzig and reach the final in Berlin,” said HSV head of sport Ralf Becker regarding the outcome of the draw.

RB Leipzig defeated Viktoria Köln away from home (3-1) in the opening round of the competition before securing two home victories against fellow Bundesliga sides TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (2-0) and VfL Wolfsburg (1-0) respectively. In their quarter-final, Leipzig needed a last gasp penalty in extra time to defeat FC Augsburg (2-1). The two semi-final matches will take place on Tuesday 23rd April and Wednesday 24th April respectively. Both fixtures will kick off at 20:45 CEST.
