Muheim extends stay with HSV
Hamburger SV have agreed an extension to left-back Miro Muheim’s contract, which originally ran until the summer of 2025.
Miro Muheim will remain a HSV player beyond the end of his original contract in 2025. The 25-year-old, who joined HSV from St. Gallen in 2021, has signed a new deal to commit himself to the club for the foreseeable future. “Miro has developed very well both as a player and a person over the last few years,” said head of professional football Claus Costa, explaining the reasons for the early extension of Muheim’s contract. Costa added: “Miro has both defensive and offensive strengths, is consistent and has become a firm fixture in the side. We are therefore very pleased that he is staying with us.”
“It was clear that I wanted to extend”
Muheim has made 24 appearances this season, popping up with four goals and four assists. The Swiss defender has played a total of 88 matches for the Rothosen, scoring seven goals and assisting fifteen more. Stats like these outline Muheim's value to the side - HSV's number 28 is always willing to put in a shift to help his teammates out, a quality which has seen him become a key member of the squad both on and off the pitch.
“I really feel appreciated,” says Muheim, “I’m incredibly comfortable in the team, at the club and in the city – the people here have grown close to my heart.” A quick agreement to extend his time at HSV was therefore always on the cards. “It was clear to me that I wanted to extend my contract,” says Muheim, “it’s nice to have it sorted.” And so HSV and Miro Muheim will continue their journey together. The versatile defender knows exactly where he wants that journey to lead: “Promotion is the big goal, and we’re all pulling together to make it possible - for the club and for all of our fans.”
