Leo Oppermann signs professional contract
The 19-year-old goalkeeper is tied down for the long term and signs a contract for four years.
HSV has tied another youngster to the club for the long term. Goalkeeper Leo Oppermann (19) signed his first professional contract on Wednesday (25 August) until 30 June 2025. "Leo has constantly developed and shows great willingness to learn and perform. He still has great potential for development and we see him as an integral part of our goalkeeper team in the coming years," says sport director Michael Mutzel. Oppermann is very pleased about the trust placed in him and the contract extension. "HSV has shown me a path for the coming years that has convinced me. I would like to continue on this path and contribute my hard work and dedication in order to develop further here," said the goalkeeper.
The 1.91-metre Oppermann moved to HSV in 2020 from Union Berlin, for whom he had played since U15, and played over 90 minutes in all ten games for the second team last season until the Regional League season was abandoned. After Tom Mickel's injury, he was part of head coach Tim Walter's squad for each of the first four matchdays of the current second division season. With Daniel Heuer Fernandes (28), Marko Johansson (23), Tom Mickel (32) and Leo Oppermann, HSV is now well-positioned in terms of goalkeeping.
