Klaus Gjasula moves to SV Darmstadt 98
The 31-year-old had joined HSV in the summer of 2020 and is now leaving the Red Shorts for league rivals Darmstadt after 16 competitive appearances.
Klaus Gjasula is leaving HSV to join SV Darmstadt 98 with immediate effect, both clubs agreed on Wednesday (August 11). The Albanian international already completed his medical check with the Lilies. "We wish him all the best in his new role," said sporting director Michael Mutzel, "Klaus has always behaved in an exemplary manner with us, always giving his all and keeping the competition in the team high."
Gjasula moved from SC Paderborn to the Red Shorts in the summer of 2020, but due to injuries such as a torn knee ligament, he was only able to fulfill his intended central role in the defensive midfield to a limited extent. So after 16 games in the HSV jersey now follows the premature separation. "Even though we will already meet again in a few days, I would like to say a sensible goodbye and wish HSV all the best for the future," Gjasula is already looking ahead to August 22, when he will be a guest with his new club Darmstadt 98 at the next HSV home game at Volksparkstadion.
HSV wishes Klaus Gjasula all the best and much success for the future and the new challenge.
