Josha Vagnoman called up for U21 EUROs
The 20-year-old HSV academy product has been named in the Germany U21 squad ahead of the upcoming knockout stages of the UEFA U21 European Championship.
Josha Vagnoman has been called up to the Germany U21s for the upcoming knockout stages of the U21 EUROs. Head coach Stefan Kuntz included the defender in his 23-man squad for the final stages of the tournament. Germany will now face Denmark in the quarterfinals in Székesfehérvár on 31st May (21:00 CEST). The team previously beat Hungary (3-0) and drew against the Netherlands (1-1) and Romania (0-0) in the group stages at the end of March. Vagnoman started all three of these matches, playing the full 90 minutes in each.
Vagnoman was initially a doubt to make the squad, after having suffered a minor thigh injury at home against Nürnberg. Fortunately for the defender, he has returned to full fitness in time to earn a call up to the U21 EUROs. Vagnoman did not feature in the final match of the season against Eintracht Braunschweig (4-0 win for HSV) as a precaution.
