Press Conference

"It's a challenge to prove yourself again right away".
Ahead of the away game at SSV Jahn Regensburg, HSV coach Tim Walter answered questions from media representatives at a press conference and spoke about the condition of his own team and the strengths of the opponents.
After the cup is before the final spurt in the league: Hamburger SV will be visiting ninth-placed SSV Jahn Regensburg on Saturday (live on HSVnetradio from 1.15 pm) as part of the 31st Second Division matchday in the Upper Palatinate. Tim Walter's men, who are sixth in the table, can get close to the top places, but need a win before the results in the other places can get interesting. For their part, the Upper Palatinate team, in ninth place in the table, only need one more point to reach the magic 40-point mark and are thus a dangerous opponent. What kind of match he expects under these conditions, how he assesses the current situation after the elimination in the DFB Cup and before the season's final spurt and which personnel is available - HSV coach Tim Walter talked about all that in a digital press conference on Thursday afternoon and expressed himself among other things about...
... the personnel situation: "Of the players who can play, all are fit in terms of health. Of course, Tim Leibold still needs a while because of his cruciate ligament rupture. But in the meantime he looks really good, so that he can rejoin the team training in the near future. With Elijah Krahn and Maxi Rohr we also have two more injured players.
... the condition of our own team: Of course we were very disappointed after the cup match. But the starting position is no different than after a win. Even if you win a game, the next task is waiting for you. As of today, we are focused on the next game. The boys are in a good mood. We want to pass and win in Regensburg. It's also a challenge to prove yourself again immediately after a disappointing defeat. Of course we'd like to be in the cup final now, but it's only because of the way we play that we've got this far. We can be a bit proud of that.
„Regensburg is the Regensburg it stands for: a lot of passion, a lot of fight, a lot of second balls.“
... the opponent: Regensburg is the Regensburg it stands for: a lot of passion, a lot of fight, a lot of second balls. Plus a good community. That's why the club deserves to be in the 2nd division and also in its current position in the table. Regensburg is always dangerous. We know that. At the same time, we know that we can play them and, of course, go there to win.
... the focus on Sonny Kittel: We always play with eleven men on the pitch. We are a team of 22 players and four goalkeepers. Sonny is a part of that. Many, many people make HSV dependent on individual players. I don't do that. Sonny is part of the team: he does a lot of things well and at the same time can still develop further despite his age. That's what we're working on and that's what matters to Sonny, me and the whole team.
