“I was certain that Bobby would score”
After the game, the Rothosen players were pleased with the performance against Preußen Münster and celebrated Robert Glatzel who scored a brace, and someone else, who wasn’t at the stadium.
Daniel Elfadli: We showed a good reaction from the last game in Hannover. It is not a given that you win 4-1 against a newly-promoted side. It was good for us to take an early 2-0 lead. It was a special moment for me to score my first goal for HSV here in front of a home crowd. I’m really pleased about that, but obviously even more so about the win.
Jonas Meffert: It feels good to have won the game by so many. It shows the kind of quality we have in the team. The depth of the squad is good for us because the coach can always decide who has trained well and then give them a chance. Everyone knows that there is an alternative in his position who is just as good.
On Robert Glatzel: With Bobby, I was certain that he would score if he’s on the pitch. I’ve known him for a long time, and he’s already shown this quality a lot of times.
Robert Glatzel: We knew right from the start what we were up against and fought against that. We wanted to let the ball do a lot of the running. We implemented the things we set out to do and overall won comfortably. For me personally it was a very nice story. I was out for almost the whole of preseason and now I’ve worked my way back game by game. I’m very happy to have scored two goals on my comeback to the starting eleven.
On his celebration: Mario is one of us just like before. We are always there for him. It is a gesture that should give him strength.
Miro Muheim: We had a lot of patience on the ball, especially in the first half, and played very calmly and with a lot of concentration. Scoring three goals before half time was obviously really good. The goal we conceded after the break was very annoying, but we stayed in the game well. After the goal to make it 4-1, the game was over.
On Mario Vuskovic: Today we wanted to show that we are all behind Mario and are always there for him.
Steffen Baumgart: We played very well in the first half and had a lot of good opportunities. I don’t know if it was deserved to lead by that many at half time, because I also saw Münster do well in this phase of the game. Apart from a few moments, we defended very well. We didn’t in one moment in the second half and conceded immediately. We then had slightly problems, partly because our opponents played a bit better. We stayed in the game and scored the fourth goal. All in all, I’m pleased with the game and also the way in which we played.
Sascha Hildmann: The game highlighted again what has hurt us a little in recent times. We’re doing really well in terms of our organisation, we also started this game well, and after two minutes we had a good chance from Grodowski. But then HSV showed us the kind of quality you have to have. The first cross across the goal came in, header, 1-0. That is really painful. Especially in Hamburg, it is really difficult to get back in the game after conceding an early goal. In the second half, the team did well for the first 20 minutes and even got their just rewards with the goal. The fourth goal was the killer blow for us. It was an ok performance from us, even if the end result doesn’t quite reflect that.
