HSV almost back to full strength ahead of Kiel clash
32 players were present for HSV’s first training session of the week, including the returning Anssi Suhonen, Ignace Van der Brempt and Dennis Hadzikadunic.
Wednesday morning (17th April) saw Hamburger SV begin their preparations for Saturday’s crunch clash at the Volksparkstadion against 2. Bundesliga table-toppers Holstein Kiel. 32 players were involved in Wednesday’s session. 26 outfield players – including Anssi Suhonen, Ignace Van der Brempt and Dennis Hadzikadunic – took part in full team training, alongside goalkeepers Matheo Raab, Daniel Heuer Fernandes and Steven Mensah. On the neighbouring pitch, Lukasz Poreba, Tom Mickel and Hannes Hermann trained individually with fitness coach Sebastian Capel. HSV head coach Steffen Baumgart can rely on almost a full complement of players as his side’s season enters its closing stages, and will be backed by a capacity crowd of 57,000 supporters at the Volksparkstadion for Saturday’s game.
