HSV to play Hertha BSC away in the DFB-Pokal round of 16
The Rothosen will travel to Berlin in early December to play Hertha at the Olympiastadion. The draw for the round of 16 took place at the German Football Museum in Dortmund.
Hamburger SV will meet fellow 2. Bundesliga side Hertha BSC in the last 16 of the 2023/24 DFB-Pokal, with the match taking place on either the 5th or 6th December. The draw was made on Sunday lunchtime during the half-time break in the Frauen-Bundesliga game between Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg at the German Football Museum in Dortmund.
The draw was carried out by Paralympic cyclist Denise Schindler and gives HSV a tie at the traditional venue for the final, the Olympiastadion in Berlin. “It is a good, if not easy, draw. We are playing away but the game will definitely be sold out, and it’s always fun to play in Berlin,” said Horst Hrubesch, HSV’s academy director and current interim head coach of the Germany women’s national team following the draw.
