HSV sign Poreba on a permanent basis
Midfielder Lukasz Poreba, currently on loan at HSV, will join the club permanently from French first-division side RC Lens.
Hamburger SV signed Lukasz Poreba on loan from French top-flight outfit RC Lens during the final week of the summer transfer window in 2023. The central midfielder, who has won 10 caps for Poland U21s, quickly integrated into the team and, after a short spell on the sidelines after immediately signing, played 18 games for the club during the 2023/24 season, scoring two goals and recording three assists. Poreba, who joined RC Lens in summer 2022 after playing 98 times in four years for Polish club Zaglebie Lubin, has now agreed to stay in Hamburg. HSV will officially sign him on a permanent basis on 1st July 2024.
"Carved out a place for himself"
"We're extremely pleased to have been able to sign Lukasz and that he will continue to be part of our team," said Claus Costa, HSV's director of professional football. "Lukasz has been able to carve out a place for himself at HSV during the course of his year-long loan, both on and off the pitch, in addition to showcasing his qualities as a player and displaying a willingness to continue developing. We want to continue working on this together with him."
Poreba is already looking forward to the 2024/25 season, saying: "I have said many times that I feel extremely at home here at HSV. That's why I'm incredibly happy to be able to continue to be part of the team and the club. I cannot wait to get to play in front of our incredible fans again next season and want to do my part in helping us to achieve our goals."
