HSV sign Lukasz Poreba
As the transfer window comes to a close, Hamburger SV have further strengthened their squad once again by securing the 23-year-old RC Lens midfielder on a one-year loan deal.
On Wednesday, Hamburger SV have filled the last available spot in their squad by signing Polish midfielder Lukasz Poreba. The 23-year-old moves on a season-long loan deal from last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up RC Lens.
“Lukasz’ profile is a great fit for what we need”
“In Lukasz Poreba, we’ve managed to find the last piece of the puzzle for our squad,” said director of football Claus Costa, “Thanks to his quality off and on the ball, he will strengthen our midfield when playing as a six and will increase the competition for places.”
The ten-time Poland U21 international moved to the French top division after four years and 88 games for Polish side Zaglebie Lubin in the summer of 2022. He made 10 appearances for the runners-up in Ligue 1 last season. Now, he’s on loan at HSV and will wear the number 6 shirt. “I’ve known about HSV for quite a while and I’m very happy that I’ve got the chance to play for this amazing club. I’ll always give 100% and work for the team,” promised Poreba, who’ll be able to integrate into the team quickly thanks to the German he picked up at school. “Lukasz is a great fit for what we need,” reiterated Costa, “and his desire to play for HSV was palpable, so we’re really looking forward to him being here.”
