HSV to kick off the 2023/24 season against FC Schalke 04
UNDER THE FLOODLIGHTS IN THE VOLKSPARK TO START THE SEASON: HAMBURGER SV WILL KICK OFF THE 2023/24 SECOND DIVISION SEASON WITH A FRIDAY EVENING HOME MATCH AGAINST FC SCHALKE 04 ON 28TH JULY.
This Friday (30th June), HSV will start training at the Volksparkstadion, and the DFL announced the fixture schedule for the 2023/24 second division season in the morning. HSV will officially open the new season on 28th July with a Friday night encounter against FC Schalke 04, who were relegated from the Bundesliga. Kick-off for the opening game of the season is 20:30 CEST.
The other games of the coming matchday have not yet been announced, but it is confirmed that HSV will travel to Karlsruher SC on Matchday 2, before the DFB-Pokal first round the following weekend and a break for the 2. Liga, followed by HSV’s second home game of the season on Matchday 3. Hertha BSC, the second team to be relegated from the Bundesliga, will be the guests at the Volksparkstadion before HSV travel to Hannover for a North Germany clash.
