HSV complete signing of Emir Sahiti
The 25-year old winger has made the switch from Hadjuk Split to Hamburg. “He makes us more versatile,” said board member for sport Stefan Kuntz.
HSV have been busy on the last day of the summer transfer window, signing winger Emir Sahiti. The 25-year-old with Kosovan roots moves to the Rothosen from Croatian club Hadjuk Split. “Emir is a player who likes to run. He can play on either wing, which makes us more versatile,” said HSV board member for sport Stefan Kuntz about the new signing. Director of first-team football Claus Costa added: “His technical ability is brought to the fore by the effort he puts in and the energy he brings to the forward line. He’s also willing to work hard off the ball.”
Sahiti was born in Zemun, a municipality of Belgrade, on 29th November 1998. The attacker took his first steps into the world of football at Kosovan clubs KF Ramiz Sadiku Prishtinë, FC Prishtina and KF Trepca 89, before he moved to Macedonian first-division side Rabotnicki Skopje in 2015. He moved to Hadjuk Split’s second team from Skopje in February 2018 on loan and the deal was made permanent in August of the same year.

Sahiti made his professional debut for the Croatian side on 23rd February 2019 aged 20 when he was brought on as a substitute in the 68th minute of a match against HNK Gorica. Sahiti was loaned out to HNK Sibenik for the 2020/21 season but went on to make 121 appearances for Hadjuk Split, bagging 18 goals and racking up 16 assists. Sahiti has also played for the Kosovo national team on 12 occasions.
The 5’7” tall winger has played in Hadjuk Split’s first four games this season and is looking to make an instant impact at HSV. “I’m looking forward to playing in the league and for HSV. I’ve heard a lot already and want to give everything I’ve got to achieve success with the team,” stated Sahiti, who will sport the number 29 shirt for the Rothosen. The winger will not be included in the squad for Saturday’s clash against Preußen Münster, however.
