HSV announce friendly against Rangers FC

A dignified setting for a long-standing (fan) friendship: on Saturday 22 July, Hamburger SV will travel to Glasgow to play Rangers at the Ibrox Stadium as part of a test match. The match is intended to underline the exceptional relationship between the two traditional clubs and provide a top-class sporting test in preparation for the 2023/24 season. 

The ties between HSV and Rangers F.C. date back to 1970, when the first ever friendly match was played between the two clubs. At the latest with the transfers of Jörg "Ali" Albertz (1996 from HSV to Rangers, 2001 return to Volkspark) the relationship was further intensified. Two years ago, the two clubs finally established an official partnership, which has been filled with life and action ever since: A delegation visit with Dino Hermann on the occasion of the Rangers' 150th anniversary (2022) was just one highlight of many.

The next one will follow on 22 July, as the hosts from the Glasgow have planned many fan activities around the matchday weekend together with HSV. Tickets for the test match are £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for children. More information on advance ticket sales will follow.
