Home match against Erzgebirge Aue to be postponed
DFL confirms HSV's request due to the far-reaching Corona outbreak - date for the make-up game not yet fixed.
HSV's home match against FC Erzgebirge Aue, originally scheduled for Saturday (kick-off: 13.30), has been cancelled. The German Football League (DFL) confirmed HSV's request to postpone the match after a large part of the HSV squad and support staff contracted the Corona virus.
HSV board member Jonas Boldt considers the association's decision to be "logical". He says: "Unfortunately, we are not fit to play in the current situation and will continue to work in close coordination with all those involved to prevent the infection from spreading further and to ensure that we can return to competition as quickly as possible. To that end, we are in close communication with our players and their families to see how we can support them."
Meanwhile, the DFL is dealing with the scheduling of the make-up game against Aue. As soon as HSV receives information on this, the existing ticket and VIP customers who had already purchased tickets for the match will be contacted by HSV. Purchased tickets will remain valid.
