For "Uns Uwe": HSV plays in Special Jersey

Homage to the greatest HSVer of all time: Hamburger SV will play in today's second division match against F.C. Hansa Rostock with a special flock in memory of Uwe Seeler. The 2022/23 home shirt of the Red Shorts features Seeler's shirt number 9 on the left sleeve and a two-line "UNS UWE" on the chest in memory of the club icon, who died on Thursday (21 July) at the age of 85. In addition, the back numbers of the HSV professionals feature another small number 9 in white. The jerseys will be auctioned off in the coming days for the benefit of the Uwe Seeler Foundation.  

HSV would like to express its gratitude to its main and chest partner HanseMerkur, sleeve partner Popp Feinkost and supplier Adidas, who made this special gesture in honour of Seeler possible by respectfully waiving their logo presence and delivering blank jerseys at short notice. 

In preparation for the first home match of the season, the Rothosen will also wear a warm-up shirt in memory of the HSV record goalscorer. The black T-shirt features a black-and-white photo of Seeler cheering on the chest, while the back again features the number 9 and a single-line "UNS UWE" lettering.
