Five Stars Return from International Duty
Tommy Doyle, Mario Vuskovic, Fairde Alidou, Anssi Suhonen and Ludovit Reis all left the Volkspark last weekend to play for their home countries in U21 and U20 International games.
It was to be quite a successful time for our five youngsters that ventured around Europe to play for their respected nations. Here is a quick run down on how our the lads got on over the week.

Anssi Suhonen – The Finn has recently enjoyed time away with the Pikkuhuuhkajat (Finnish U21 Nickname) and experienced a similar enjoyment this time out.
Suhonen played an important part of both games where he contributed to goals! Although it was a disappointing defeat during their first game of the break, Anssi was the one to grab the goal in the match that ended 3-1. A compilation video made by the official Finland National team proved a positive and stand out performance from our young midfielder. He also took the corner that led to the winning goal in the second game for Finland.
Mario Vuskovic – Not only did the young defender experience his 20th Birthday during the international break, Mario had the best results and minutes out of all HSV players who made the trip away from the Volkspark.
90 minutes and a clean sheet for Mario against Estonia U21 before traveling to Austria on his birthday where they managed a 3-1 victory over our neighbours in the south. A special one to remember for Mario and he will no doubt be coming back to the north full of confidence.

Tommy Doyle – Our Englishman had somewhat of a mixed time away, after missing out in the first game altogether, Doyle started the final game against the Georgia U21 squad. Despite being 3-0, a respected comeback to make the final score 3-2 for Georgia. Many reports coming back from the match seeing a respected performance from Tommy and many tipping him as a missing link in the future England midfield!
Ludovit Reis – Despite not featuring in the 7-0 thrashing of the Gibraltar U21s, Ludo started the 3-1 victory over the Bulgarian U21 squad to start his international break strong. Two wins for Ludo’s Jong Oranje side and another positive display from our midfielder.

Faride Alidou – What a few months this young lad has had! Alidou was called up to the Germany U20 squad following his impressive appearances in the Rothosen. As expected, he lit up the first match against the French U20 side. A 70 minute stint on his first start, not only that, scoring a goal in the 3-2 victory. Alidou then made a 20 minute substitute appearance vs Portugal in the 1-1 draw. A successful time away for our young winger!
Once the five players return all focus turns back to the club football and this weekend where we host Jahn Regensburg at the Volksparkstadion. Saturday 20th November 13:30 (CEST) Kick Off!
