Selke suffers fractured cheekbone
The 30-year-old striker picked up an injury to his face during yesterday’s away game in Berlin. The next medical steps will be decided over the coming days.
Davie Selke suffered a fractured cheekbone during yesterday’s 3-2 win at Hertha BSC. The 30-year-old striker clashed heads with Toni Leistner during an aerial duel, and had to be substituted with an injury to his face. The HSV man, who had netted the opener in the 23rd minute for his 11th goal of the season, was immediately taken to the Charité hospital in Berlin to undergo checks and receive a diagnosis. Selke then returned to Hamburg alongside the HSV medical staff. Over the coming days, the next medical steps to deal with the injury will be decided at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). HSV would like to wish Davie Selke a speedy recovery!
